This is the hands down best diner in Virginia or DC area! No alcohol.. just absolutley delicious food cooked to perfection, staff that knows your name, and it a price that won't break your wallet. We feel like family here... Name one restaurant where you can name almost all of the people who work there... We can with Van Dorn Diner. Thank you for always taking the best care of us. We love you! have been here frequently--have never had good service for breakfast yet--took 1.5 hrs for last visit. yet, i keep trying. have done dinner/supper twice with no problems. the latest supper was a Ruben which had just the right proportions of ingredients. the chicken fried steak was ok but the mashed potatoes were lumpy. really wanted a go to place for brunch--guess i haven't found it yet

Great 50's styled diner, with excellent staff and service. Lilly is awesome. Maybe you too will gain her as your server too!

It's a pretty good place. It's fairly cheap for the food, the coffee is good, and the staff are just absolutely the best. From the manager on down. So kind, so warm, so friendly and so welcoming they really make the whole joint worth stopping in for. Do yourself a favor, stop in and enjoy a cup of coffee and the atmosphere. It's lovely and enjoyable 😁

My fiance and I found this place a couple weeks back, exploring the area for places to eat, since we're moving in, right around the corner.. The first time we went, I got the French toast, and she got the tuna melt.. Both, fantastic! Tasted great, and hefty portions! The 2nd time we went, I got the country fried steak with a Belgian waffle, and she got the biscuits and sausage gravy. While my country fried steak wasn't the greatest, it was still good, and the waffle was delicious! Her biscuits and sausage gravy were excellent! I highly recommend this place. Small and more personable. Doesn't seem like it gets super busy either, which is a plus
